The Lower Atmosphere was located in the large basement of this home on Park Ave, Verona NJ. Built in 1912 in this bedroom community, it was constructed in a neighborhood catering to the suburban interests of folks who worked in lower Manhattan (being only 20 miles away by car). It became well known in town due to it’s lavish parties which included food, live entertainment and libations. Some gatherings exceeded 100 persons coming from Verona, St. Barnabas Medical Center (where I worked) and Hoffman LaRoche pharmaceuticals where Marla worked. We owned the property between 1973 through 1988 and created many fond memories there for many.
