  • For Sale - Fisher Model MPX-70 FM Stereo Adapter/Sub-assembly

    STATUS: SOLD

    Location:
    Northern NJ

Description: For Sale - - - This is a Fisher Model MPX-70 FM Multiplex Stereo Adapter/Sub-Assembly. It was used as the stereo sub-assembly within some common Fisher products, circa 1966. For example, it was the FM Multiplex Adapter/Sub-Assembly used in the Fisher Model 500 C receiver as well as other Fisher tube-based audio equipment from that era. I used this unit as a stand-alone FM Stereo Adapter connected to my own home-made FM receiver from that same time period. It uses 3 x 12AX7 dual triode tubes (not included). The MPX-70 includes a 19 kHz pilot detector, 38 kHz suppressed sub-carrier detector, 67 kHz SCA sub-carrier trap, matrix stereo de-modulator, and de-emphasis circuits for each channel all mounted on a plated steel chassis. It can be used as a replacement sub-assembly in Fisher equipment of that era or as a stand-alone unit (but you will need to supply the 300 VDC B+ and 6.3 VAC for the tube filaments if used as a stand-alone).
It's serial number is 11505A. It was in working condition when taken out of service many years ago.
