  • Set Start Time of File

Sometimes, when dealing with long forensics surveillance files, there will be a very short period of time that is of interest that is not located at the beginning of the file (someplace between the beginning and the end of the file). It could be 5 minutes worth of conversation with the rest of the file being silence or of no interest. You can offset the time axis of the file so that it begins near the point of interest using the View Menu/Set Start Time of File. Open the file of interest and then click on the mentioned item and reset the time and the X-Axis (time axis) will re-normalize to that time value. You may also want to trim the tail of the file using the highlight and cut feature in the DCForensics software.
