  • path name length limitation

Forgot to ask. There was a path character limitation I sometimes ran into in Version 8 (and before). Not a very big problem, once I new about it, but did you have a chance to fix it in DC 10

Hi - Was not aware of the limitation beyond that which the operating and file system presents to the user. We made no changes in that regard and had never heard of any limitations short off the system on which the programs run.

Here is the comment from Rickc last year on the pathname issue:

      Got it!!!
It was the length of the file name that was the problem, Not the overall path. I have looked at this code a dozen times and never noticed the short buffer length. I even have a check to see if the filename is too long.
Oh well, It seems to be fixed now. This will be the upcoming bug fix release of DCForensics10. I am not sure when I will get it back into DC8 as we are working on the update to that program as well.

Thanks so much for your persistence Jack

Ok. I was unaware of it. I guess the issue is fixed.
