Software only plays 4 to 5 seconds then stops

Sometimes, it has been reported that the software only plays 4 to 5 seconds and then stops. The cause of this has always turned out to be the use of MME drivers rather than WDM drivers. Apparently, some sound cards or chip-sets are not compatible with MME drivers. So, simply go to the edit/menu/soundcard and change the setting to WDM. That will quite likely fix the problem.
