The most common CD burner question is "why does the CD burner not create a usable CD?" CDs are in a format called red book audio. It is a PCM (pulse code modulation) scheme using a 44.1 kHz sampling rate and a 16 bit depth. Many folks perform their restorations at higher sample rates or higher resolution (bit depth) values. Whatever you do during restoration, you must create a set of files that are 16 bit resolution and 44.1 kHz to create a proper CD. The file "Change Sample Rate/Resolution" feature found under the edit menu will facilitate that pre-burn conversion process.
