  • How much stereo separation can I expect from a Vinyl LP

This is a common question that we hear from customers. The short answer is that you can expect around 25 dB at best and under ideal conditions when measured at 1 kHz. This is much lower than other media such as analog magnetic tape or digital sampling techniques. This is due to the electro-mechanics of cutting wax at -45 - 0 +45 degrees, the details of which are beyond the scope of this posting.
