We were first introduced to the 'craft' of audio restoration and enhancement at the Rogers and Hammerstein Archive of Recorded Sound, circa 1992. It was through a pro-bono project with the US Department of the Interior (a 5 year contract) via Dr. Edward Pershey, (curator at the Edison National Historic Site, West Orange, NJ) that Rick and I persued this area of endeavour.. After the contract was signed, we sub-contracted Thomas Owen (the chief archivist
at that time of the aforementioned entity) to train us in the proper methodology of archival {transfer} recording.
