Record skip. Hate it when that happens. But there may be a safer approach to getting rid of those annoying skips without having to put an "elephant" on the tonearm.
If you use a turntable with an "S" tonearm, you may also have an Anti-Skating control in it's assembly. If you have a forward skip, that is the needle jumps ahead to the next track, turn the Anti-Skating control up as high as 3. If the needle keeps repeating the same track, turn the control all the way down to 0. These setting should just about eliminate most if not all of your skipping problems. Records with both types of skips may require a different approach.
