  • Edison Diamond Disc - Transfer to Digital

Here is what you need to transfer an Edison Diamond Disc to a digital computer.

    1. A turntable capable of 78 RPM (you can convert 78 rpm to 80 rpm using the Diamond Cut Change Speed Filter later).

    2. Alternatively, a turntable capable of 45 RPM (you can convert 45 rpm using the Diamond Cut Change Speed Filter later).

    3. A stereophonic magnetic phono cartridge having a 3.0 to 3.7 mil Spherical stylus (a Conical type will work, but less optimally)

    4. A Preamplifier (Flat is preferred, but an RIAA type can be used in conjunction with the Virtual Phono Preamp to eliminate the EQ curve before applying the Change Speed filter).

    5. A copy of Diamond Cut Productions software having the Virtual Phono Preamplifier (VPP).

    6. Assuming that a Flat Phono Preamp is used in the transfer at 78 rpm, use the Change Speed Filter to correct up to 80 rpm.

    7. Set the Virtual Phono Preamp to "Flat Preamp", "Acoustical" "Mono", "Vertical", "Tone Controls Off", "Tone Controls Off", "Rumble Filter On".
