What digitizer was used on the Edison Laterals Transfer Project? Answer: It was a Sony PCM-601 feeding into a Sony Beta Editor recorder. The pre-amplifier was a DIY affair that we designed and built.

It was used in 16 bit mode at 44.1 kHz sample rate. The digital recordings on Sony Beta tape are stored in a climate controlled vault at the Edison National Historic site in West Orange, NJ. The site has the ability to play them and/or transfer them to another digital media. We have multiple back-up copies off all of those transfers here at Diamond Cut Productions (in both video and PCM digital audio formats).
