  • Which Level is On the Level ?

    Group,

I applied a 1 KHz sine wave to my sound card Input (Realtek) and the DC10 level shows -6 dB during the pause mode for recording. When the signal is recorded and played back, the level on the side of the waveform shows -5 dB. Is the difference due to the sound card or the DC software ?

    Marc,

Using the Diamond Cut Make Waves signal generator, create a 1 kHz sine wave at - 6dB. That is pure math and no hardware involvement. Then, take it from there. That signal is your reference. How does that signal look on playback?

      Marc,

Highly likely that it some tolerance associated with the sound card. It does have a set of op-amps therein and resistors to set its gain.
