  • CNF Sample Rate

Normally, I use a sample rate of 44.1 kHz for the Continuous Noise Filter. Without changing the settings, what would be the effect of changing the sample rate to 96 kHz?

Raising the sample rate to a fixed setting would trade-off the transient response of the CNF. We think it best to let the user to make that tradeoff because the sound quality vs noise reduction is quite material dependent.

Let me try the question another way. I set the CNF settings for a wav file with 41 kHz sampling. Without changing the CNF settings, the same song with 96 kHz sampling is applied to the CNF. What change to the CNF performance would occur?

The transient response of the processed signal reacts in an inverse way compared to sample rate (and therefore frequency response).
