  • CNF and processor

Please forgive me if this has been covered in another thread.

Yesterday I went back to work on some tape captures I started on several years ago.

I am still using DC5 but my computer has a pentium 4 processor. When I started working on the tapes I was using a computer with a pentium 1.

The CNF seems to work better with the pentium 4. Easier to keep out artifacts while removing tape hiss.

Is that my imagination? I may have to set up the pentium 1 again for a side by side comparison.

    Thanks,

    Indy

The actual aural performance of the filters is independent of the processor chip that you are using. The thing that is affected is the speed for a given process to complete.

The degree to which the CNF produces artifacts is dependent on user settings. Also, the DC7 version has a number of algorithm changes and options that minimize artifacting.
