    Monitor Speakers

    Hi everyone,

    Would like to get a pair of monitor speakers that plug directly into my pc's sound card....any recommendations are greatly appreciated.

    You might look at the Electro-Voice 100EL active monitor speakers. They appear occasionaly on eBay for $200-$300 for the pair. When new they went for around $1500 and were very popular as a near field monitor. Here's a link that gives all the technical details:

    They are the same speaker as the Sentry 100A, but with built in amps. The 100A's usually go on eBay for $100-$200. The amps are definitely worth the extra money. As a side benefit, they are bookshelf sized which even my wife approves of - so we have high quality speakers in the living room!
