can't run filter and online help crashes program

i am trying to run the notch filter on my source file. when i hit run filter i get the following response: The destination file is incompatible with this filter. it may have a different number of channels, a different sample rate, of different bit depth. close the destination file and try again.
also when i try to go to the dc millenium help file the program crashes. i am runnning windows 2000.
any thoughts!

It sounds like you are in "file sync" mode and have no destination file or have one of a different length than the source. To turn off file sync mode, go to the view menu and uncheck sync files. That should do it.
