spectrum analyzer

I am having trouble figuring out the the spectrum analyzer. I select a filter, select spectrum analyzer; both show up as windows, then I click on the filter and it runs; the spectrum analyzer shows as essentially a "backwards Z" - two flat lines and one diagonal line connecting them. I read through the manual and found the references to white noise and pink noise, but I don't know how to interpret what I have here. There appears to be one line slightly above flat that veers off the flat line, but that line is nearly flat.

Any help understanding this? Maybe I'm just dense, but I don't exactly understand it.

Sounds like you are looking a junk. With the spectrum analyzer showing, play a file. You should see the analyzer move with the music. If it dosent, the Hold button may be pressed. Hold stops sampling and shows whatever was lasts played.
