  • Record Audio Error

Audio record attempt yields DCart10 generated error msg: "DirectSound Error: No sound driver is available for use."

  • #2
That means that your operating system is missing the DirectX sound card drivers. You may have to re-install your operating system. It sounds like your drivers have become corrupted - have heard of that happening in the past. It probably means that the hard drive is beginning to fail (bad sectors).

If this is Windows 8 / 10 I'd recommend trying to reboot and then try recording. The way MS handles sound these days I feel causes a lot of errors along these lines. I always do a fresh reboot prior to a recording session.

Marcus' advice seems to me to be good. I have had issues here at times and a re-boot brings things back to life (for some unknown reason).
