  • Change gain level on one channel to match the other

    Hello folks;

    I have a recording (which is a choral group recorded in the 50's I believe) that has a difference in gain of about 1-1 1/2 db between the 2 stereo channels (R channel is lower than the L channel). Can I select just the desired channel and raise that gain to match the other channel? I believe there is an option to do so in the menu???

    Or is there a better way to accomplish this?

    Thanks...

    Yes, easily done. First, click on the channel that you want to change the gain on (chose the L or R buttons on the upper right area of the toolbar). Then, highlight the file or a portion thereof that you want to change. Then, open the gain change feature (under the edit menu) and set the controls to the desired modification (either increase or decrease - - - it is calibrated in dB). Run it. Done.
