I probably should have asked this long ago, but better late than never I guess.
I'm still working through my dad's record, tape, and CD collection (he and my mom moved into assisted living and there was no room for his collection, so I now have it), so still about 2000 to go (my collection of about 4000 has already been cleaned, filtered, ripped, and archived).
Anyway, I use the "Find and Mark Silent Passages" feature a lot to easily mark the gaps between tracks on an album. However, I generally prefer to have a longer tail on the previous song and shorter amount of silence before the song starts. As best as I can tell, this feature looks like it splits the silence right down the middle, so for many many years now, I have used the feature, then manually slid the marker to the right to be closer to the beginning of the next song.
It would be great if there could be an option setting to have the marker split the silence gap by 2/3 and 1/3 (2/3 after the previous song, 1/3 silence for the upcoming song) or 3/4 and 1/4. Heck for those who prefer a longer silence before a song begins, you could select 1/3 and 2/3 or 1/4 and 3/4 as the split. And of course, for those that like it in the middle, keep the 1/2 and 1/2 option. That would save a lot of time when slicing the album into individual tracks.
