Can one append a .wav file to the one displayed in the source window? Or is there some other way to append a file?

You should be able to append to the end of the original file if you open both in separate windows, "Select All" and "Copy" the file you would like to append, then go to the original window and "Paste - Append to End"

There are a lot of paste options ("Edit, Paste" from the top-line menu). If I'm appending from another file, I open both files. I highlight what I want to paste from the source file and select "Edit, Copy" (or press Ctrl-C). Then I go to the destination file and select "Edit, Paste, Append to End". You will see there are also options to Interpolate, Paste Over, Paste Insert, Paste Mix, Paste Crossfade, As New File, Silence, Append to End, Insert at State, and Bleep (tone). The help file goes into great detail as to what each of these options doees.

One thing I have found in the past (and haven't checked in the most recent version) is you need to select "Edit Copy" if you want to paste elsewhere. "Edit, Cut" seems to act more like a delete, and doesn't let you paste anything (again, that may have been fixed, but I haven't tried it recently...I just select copy, and then go back to delete if I need to).

      Hope this helps.
