white noise

Have just started (trying) to use DC-Art32.

1st problem: Have alot of hiss on speakers, also can hear harddrive working thru speakers. Anyone know how to eliminate this.

2nd problem: When using any filter, recording seems to start breaking-up no matter how low the settings ANy help

The first problem is most likely the result of a very low quality sound card. The second problem I have not encountered. Can you give more specifics. Try using, for example the bandpass filter at some defined settings on some defined wavefile. Try using it on a file created by the softwares own "make waves" generator and let me know what that does.
