  • Impulse Noise Filter Parameters

When using Impulse Noise Parameter settings... "Vinyl first pass using HQ mode" - "second pass" - "third pass", I have noticed, just recently, that I have to set the Tracking to at least 60 - 70. Any lower, 45 - 55, and distortion is apparent on the higher frequencies. Of course, at the 60 - 70 setting, very little filtering seems to be occurring.
What puzzles me, is that this has only just started happening.
I have processed about 5-6 LP's in the past, and had no problems...but the last 2-3 LP's have been a real pain.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Noel

    Re: Impulse Noise Filter Parameters

My experience has been that the tracking setting is very recording dependent. On an overall basis, the one that works the most consistently on average is the Vinyl LP mode as the first pass. But not always. Give that a try on stubborn records and see what happens.
