One might wonder if the vacuum tubes in audio equipment degrade as a function of ambient temperature; if so, is it wise to use cooling fans on them?
Answer:
Tube life decreases by 10% for every 5 degree of ambient temperature rise.*
As a matter or practicality, this is only a relevant factor on power tubes with high power stress levels run near their envelope temperature limit. Further, fan noise does not go well with a good audio system.
