  • The Ultimate Lazy 78rpm Cleanup?

Well...give it a go! Based on widening the S/N ratio using the P&C filter. Nice round sound. The 2nd P&C is there merely to try and retain some of the treble fidelity. Normally I would use 2 manual CNFs in place of the EZ clean (4096 followed by 512 FFT), but this auto combination seems to work well. Also missing is the VVA harmonic sweet spot - that could be placed after the last P&C before the Dynamic Noise filter (just increase the threshold of the Dynamic noise filter to remove artifacts). Later I will post a manual version for restoration addicts.

Enjoy - you may be sur
    prised.

At work I may look like I'm doing nothing, but at the cellular level I'm actually quite busy

Sorry - Fat Bass VVA was missing from above. Anyway - here again:
    1. Auto 78rpm Filter - has Fat Bass VVA included
    2. Auto 78rpm Filter - W Harmonic Exciter (fat bass VVA also included)

I like using these filters in "realtime" mode - they produce exceptional results. Just adjust the EZ Impulse noise and Dynamic Processor threshold vaules to suit difficult recordings. The rest usually work well with their current settings.
