  • DCart 10.8 error when trying to extract audio form MP4 video

I get the error "That did not work. The video decoder returned an exit code of -1073741819" when attempting to open an .mp4 video file to extract the audio.
    OS is Windows 10

We have not seen that. Had it been working and then suddenly failed to perform that operation? Does it do the same thing on all MP4s? Have you tried to un-install the software program and then tried to re-install it directly from our website demo version: https://www.diamondcut.com/st3/produ...n-tools-10-62/

It is possible that a corrupted file is involved with this situation.

Hi, I have the same problem. I tried several different video files with the same result. Never has worked with mp4 video files. To get by the problem, I used xxxxx- zzzzz to extract the audio. OS is Win 7 and Win 10 with latest updates and on different computers.

Did you try a fresh installation of the Diamond Cut DC version 10.8x software directly from our website demo version (registration is preserved during this process). Uninstall what you have and then re-install from this link: https://www.diamondcut.com/st3/produ...n-tools-10-62/

I also note that there are many "flavors" of MP4 files, not all of which comply with the standards set forth. Please read this:

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP4_file_format

So, in short, mp4 is a wrapper that can contain any of many data set types.
